Antarctic campaign 2008-2009

During the Antarctic campaign 2008-2009 we did fieldwork on Johnsons and Hurd glaciers, Livingston Island, with logistic support from the Spanish Antarctic Station Juan Carlos I. The participating team members were Francisco Navarro and Rebeca Hernández (first phase) and Carmen Molina (second phase). The glaciological works included radio-echo sounding (200 MHz) of Hurd glacier and its side lobes Argentina and Las Palmas, snow pits, differential GPS positioning (for velocity computations) and accumulation-ablation measurements on the net of poles covering Johnsons-Hurd, regular maintenance of this net, photogrammetry and differential GPS positioning of the glacier fronts, and geomorphological observations.
