During the Antarctic campaign 2004-2005 we did fielwork on Johnsons and Hurd glaciers, Livingston Island, with logistic support from the Spanish Antarctic Station Juan Carlos I. The participating team members were Francisco Navarro (first phase) and Andrey Galzovskiy and Carmen Molina (second phase). The glaciological works included snow pits, differential GPS positioning (for velocity computations) and accumulation-ablation measurements on the net of poles covering Johnsons-Hurd, regular maintenance of this net, deployment of a new local net of poles for strain measurements on Hurd glacier, radio-echo sounding (25 MHz) of Hurd glacier, deployment of a repeater for DGPS corrections near the snout of Hurd glacier, DGPS positioning of the glacier fronts and geomorphological observations.
